Help Us Support Our Heart Warrior Princess, Khaleesi

Our beautiful daughter Khaleesi is only 4 years old, with her 5th birthday coming up on December 1st. She was born with a complex congenital heart condition called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a condition that has required multiple open-heart surgeries, endless procedures, and more strength than most could ever imagine.
Despite everything, Khaleesi has faced every battle with the biggest smile and the purest heart. She’s a true Heart Warrior. She dreams of becoming a doctor one day so she can help others, a reflection of the kindness, bravery, and love she’s carried since birth.
Today, Khaleesi is fighting for her life. She is currently in severe heart failure and supported by ECMO life support. The medical team will take her into surgery for a Fontan take-down and shunt placement — a final attempt to save her life.
The doctors have told us the chances of her body recovering are only about 10%. If her body cannot sustain this, we will have to face the heartbreaking decision of turning off the machine and letting her pass peacefully.
We are not giving up hope, but we are also preparing for the reality ahead. After years of surgeries, hospital stays, and constant battles, Khaleesi’s body is tired. She has fought harder than any child should ever have to.
We have decided not to pursue a heart transplant due to the overwhelming risks, long waiting times, and uncertainty of success. Instead, we are focusing on making sure our Princess is surrounded by love, comfort, and dignity no matter what lies ahead.
No parent should ever have to plan for their child’s final moments, but we want to make sure our baby girl is celebrated the way she deserves, as the strong, loving, and inspiring soul she has always been.
Khaleesi has brought so much love to everyone around her. She’s united our family, inspired her medical team, and shown that even the smallest hearts can have the greatest strength.
Please continue to pray, share, and help in any way you can. Every prayer, message, and donation means the world to us.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for loving our little warrior.

Khaleesi Update

Late yesterday evening, an ultrasound was performed on Khaleesi due to excessive chest tube output that was still showing quite a bit of blood. Typically, within 48 hours, this output should become less bloody and change to more of a yellowish bodily fluid — but hers has not.

The ultrasound revealed a blood clot in one of the major veins in her upper body, right next to her heart, which is causing some restriction. They also found another clot in her lower groin area. The doctors mentioned that the clots can be somewhat common given all the interventions she’s been through and the large cannulas that were once placed in her neck from her ECMO support.

Because of this, Khaleesi will be taken back to the Cath Lab this morning for another procedure to remove both clots. This is a very risky intervention, as there’s a chance that if the clot moves the wrong way toward her heart, it could result in a stroke. The team has assured us they’ll have all hands on deck for this procedure.

Until this is completed, we won’t be able to move forward with plans to extubate her. It’s been a rough night and early morning for us, but we wanted to keep everyone updated and continue asking for your prayers over our sweet girl as she goes through yet another challenge.

Thank you all for continuing to lift her up in prayer, share her story, and support us through this incredibly difficult journey. Every message, donation, and act of love means more than words can ever express.
