Simon Cowell is undeniably one of the most recognized figures in the music industry, thanks to his exceptional talent and keen business acumen, which have earned him millions over the years.

Without Simon’s influence and his groundbreaking reality TV shows, we might never have discovered global sensations like One Direction or Kelly Clarkson.

Starting in the 1980s, Simon’s career began as a music producer, consultant, and talent scout. However, he truly became a household name in 2001 when he served as a judge on the reality show Pop Idol. Following the massive success of that show, Simon launched The X Factor and Got Talent franchises, which went on to become international sensations across numerous countries.

Recognized for his impact, Simon was listed twice as one of Time’s 100 most influential people in the world, in 2004 and again in 2010.

In recent years, Simon faced several personal challenges. He experienced two significant accidents – first, a fall down a flight of stairs and then a severe back injury from an electric scooter mishap.

Reflecting on the second incident, which led to back surgery, Simon cautioned others about the potential risks of electric bikes. “The one I had was pretty much a motorcycle with an electric motor. You needed a full crash helmet and protective gear. It was insane,” he said. “I didn’t realize its power before getting on it, and I was launched 6 to 8 feet into the air, landing on my spine.”

Beyond his professional endeavors, Simon is also known for his philanthropic efforts and deep love for animals. Since 2013, he has been in a relationship with Lauren Silverman, who is also the mother of his son, Eric. The beginning of their romance sparked controversy, as it was reported that Lauren was still married to Andrew Silverman, who was one of Simon’s close friends at the time.

In 2014, Simon and Lauren welcomed their son, Eric, into the world. Reflecting on fatherhood, Simon told Hello Magazine, “Meeting Lauren and becoming a father was the most incredible experience of my life. It’s challenging to have children at my age, but it’s the most rewarding thing. When you work as hard as I do, you often wonder, ‘What’s the purpose of all this?’ But then someone like Eric comes along, and it all becomes worthwhile.”

Despite his immense success, with a reported net worth of $600 million according to Celebrity Net Worth, Simon has revealed that his son Eric won’t be inheriting his fortune. The reason? Simon believes that Eric should carve out his own path and success in life.

Speaking to The Mirror, he shared, “I plan to leave my money to a cause, probably a charity focused on kids and animals. I don’t believe in simply passing wealth from one generation to the next.” He added, “Your legacy should be about giving others the opportunity to succeed, sharing your time, and imparting your knowledge.”

Simon and Eric share a close bond, often spending quality time together. According to Simon, they enjoy watching Disney movies and are both big fans of Scooby-Doo. “He’s the greatest gift I’ve ever received. I absolutely adore him,” the America’s Got Talent judge said.

Eric was named after Simon’s late father, Eric Selig Phillip Cowell, who passed away in 1999.
